Bartender Resume Example
Bar managers hire for three things before anything creative: can you keep up on a busy night, can you be trusted with the cash drawer and the stock, and do guests come back. A bartender resume should answer those three questions in the first glance.
Numbers help here as much as in any office job. Covers per night, average ticket, how many bartenders you worked alongside, and certifications such as alcohol-service training all tell a manager what level of bar you can handle.

What matters for a bartender resume
Show the volume you handle
A quiet hotel bar and a 300-cover Saturday are different jobs. Say how busy it got and how many people you served with, so the reader can place you.
List the certifications up front
Alcohol-service and food-handler certifications are often required by law or by the venue. If you have them, they belong in their own section where nobody has to hunt.
Money handling counts
Balanced drawers, low comp and waste numbers, and closing duties show you can be trusted when the manager is not there. That matters more than a long list of cocktails.
Keep it to one page
Most bar hiring happens fast and often on a phone. One page with your most relevant venues is enough; older or unrelated jobs can become a single line.
FAQ
Do I need experience to get a bartending job?
Many bars hire from barback, server or host positions. If you have not bartended yet, lead with that experience, any certification, and the speed and cash-handling skills it involved.
Should I list cocktails I can make?
Not as a list. Mention a craft-cocktail program if you helped build one, or a menu you developed. Volume, speed and reliability usually matter more to the person hiring.
What skills should a bartender resume include?
Speed under pressure, cash and POS handling, inventory and stock rotation, responsible alcohol service, and guest relations. Name the POS system you know, such as Toast or Square, if the venue uses one.
